I know that a couple of you are aware that I have been collecting Disney Vinylmation characters for a while now (www.vinylmation.com), but I don't think anyone outside of Crystal knows that I've also started focusing my attention on creating them. Along with the factory produced figures you can also purchase create-your-own figures (in both 3" and 9" sizes) and then go to town with them. An early attempt included blasting one 3" figure with spray glue and glitter, but the end result was mostly disappointing.
It was at that point I busted out some of Crystal's old painting supplies and started painting figures. Again, some of my early work wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but with some persistance I started to really enjoy the painting process.
Anyway, I just wanted to share some photos of my early work:
The first set of three and the shades of blue single are all 3" figures (abstract art, I suppose), the final is a 9" figure of Louis from Disney's The Princess and the Frog:
I didn't color match him quite as well as I thought I did, but I still think he came out pretty good. As I continue to paint more I'll be sure to post photos - thanks for having a look!
