It has to be a record

So, I listed my PT Cruiser for sale on Craigs List last night at around 10pm.....it sold and was driven away today at 1pm.  From listing to sale in under 24 hours - yeah baby!

60 to zero in 5.5 states

How is it that when I left Wisconsin a week ago it was in the 70's, but upon my return I find a 34 degree welcoming party?!  That's a 60 degree swing from when we left Florida (which was a balmy 94 - and quite humid).

Anyway, just a quick note to say we've returned safely - more to follow shortly.

Vroom vroom!

Meet the newest member of the Svoboda garage...my motorcycle!  It's a 2007 Suzuki GS500F and it will soon be my main mode of transportation (which is why I installed the luggage carrier on the back).  It's a mighty hard thing to sit at my desk working and see it out in the garage begging to be driven.

And yes, I always wear a helmet.

Someone explain this to me

I was checking up on a recent online purchase I made and discovered that my package was currently in Greensboro, North Carolina.  This wouldn't be such a big deal, I suppose, except for the fact that before it had been in Greensboro, NC it had previously been in Des Moines, Iowa.  But wait, it gets even better!  Where did the package originate from?  Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.  Now, I'm no cartographer, but does this make any sense:

Maybe it's just me, but this might have worked better:

This, my friends, is why the post office is losing billions of dollars a year.  Pray for this package.

Tree hugger

Crystal's brother Eric is hoping to score a pretty sweet intern job with the Sierra Club; this is his video submission.

Aerogarden update

At this point everything you see is ready for harvest.  I took quite a bit of the chives for a recent potato dish, but that's about all I've cut from this lot (and a few slips of basil).  It doesn't look like the spinach is going to produce enough to be useful, but I'll give it a bit longer before I plant something new.  The lettuce sucks up an incredible amount of water, leaving me to refill the garden at least once a week.  Now the only thing I need is a good recipe that calls for thyme!

I'd watch that!

For those of you who frequent youtube on a regular basis you probably know that they recommend videos for you to watch based on what you've watched in the past.  Today youtube recommended that I watch ONE OF MY OWN VIDEOS!  Um, yeah thanks youtube, I think I saw that one already.
